THIGH PADS FOR WARMTH, SUPPORT AND PAIN RELIEF
Thigh muscle sensations are very common. The pain in the thigh muscle can have many causes. For example, it may be due to previous injuries, strains, tears or weakness in the muscle.

If the thigh injury is not so bad that you can move, a thigh protector can provide warmth, support and pain relief. Simply put, it gives you better stability and security in your leg, allowing you to return to physical activities more quickly. For athletes, a thigh protector is particularly useful as it makes the muscles more flexible and the warm-up easier. A thigh protector can also be very useful if you have a thigh contusion, if you have pain in the back of your thigh or if you have a torn muscle in your thigh.

WHY CALF PROTECTORS?

The purpose of a calf guard is to protect the shin from friction during exercise and to reduce the risk of shin splints. They increase blood circulation and provide compression, warmth and support.

Calf protectors are mainly used by athletes, both for preventive and rehabilitative purposes. They can also be used by you in everyday life if you are bothered by exercise-related calf pain or shin splints. A calf protector also has the effect of reducing stiffness and increasing stability in the calf.

In addition to the healing effect, a calf protector can also act as a shin guard. This is to prevent scrapes, bruises and pain caused by friction from, for example, a barbell in deadlifts. Shin guards allow you to train more freely, avoid pain and focus on your technique.

CALF PROTECTION FOR PREHAB OR REHAB PURPOSES?

It can be a good idea to use calf protection even before the injury occurs, i.e. as prehab. The pads provide your calves with stability, warmth and compression. You also increase blood circulation. This reduces the risk of, among other things, shin splints.

Calf protectors can also be used for rehabilitation purposes, including the treatment of painful lower legs. You can get this if you have suffered from shin splints, health inflammations or muscle ruptures, e.g. "gubbat".

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN STARTING TO USE CALF PROTECTORS

The recommendation is to start using calf protectors gradually. Use a maximum of 3-4 consecutive hours for the first 2-3 days to allow the body to get used to it. After that, you can increase the time to around 8 hours per day.

If you use calf protectors for rehabilitation purposes, it is good to know that it can take up to 10-20 days for the pain to subside.

In short, a calf protector is an anatomically designed protector that you put on your calf. They are designed to protect the tibia against friction during exercise and to reduce the risk of shin splints. The purpose of the calf guard is to increase blood circulation and provide compression, warmth and support.
