Sports and Running Socks

(10 products)
Sports socks are one of the most important garments for those who train, play sports or run.
With a pair of sports socks, you can be sure that the socks are breathable and give you the support you need to get the most out of your workout.

Sports socks, running socks and compression socks for training are more durable and hard-wearing than regular socks, yet soft and lightweight to prevent irritation and other foot-related discomfort during training and running. You'll avoid blisters and chafing while staying fresh longer. The sports socks are made of materials that allow sweat to pass through and keep your feet dry.

WHY WEAR A SPORTS OR RUNNING SOCK?

What distinguishes a running sock - or sports sock - from a regular sock is function, comfort and durability. Many regular socks are mainly tight around the calf, while running socks also have a firm grip around the heel and foot. Running socks are also designed to breathe well and keep your feet dry and comfortable throughout your workout.

If you are involved in running, it is important to wear a good running sock on your foot to avoid chafing.

Some running socks have compression, others do not.

WHAT MATERIALS ARE SPORTS AND RUNNING SOCKS MADE OF?

Regular socks tend to be made of cotton, which works in most situations, except during running, when socks get wet easily - which in turn can lead to blisters. Sports and running socks, on the other hand, are made of wool, synthetics or a blend of synthetics and cotton to keep your feet dry. Of course, the time of year also affects which material you choose. Wool is more suitable for autumn, winter and spring while synthetic blends work better for summer.

HOW LONG SHOULD SPORTS SOCKS AND RUNNING SOCKS BE?

The length of your socks is not only a matter of taste, but also depends on the type of shoes you run in. Make sure to choose socks that make it impossible for the shoe to sit directly on the skin.

WHAT SIZE SHOULD SPORTS AND RUNNING SOCKS BE?

Sports socks that are too small can tighten around the foot and affect blood flow, while sports socks that are too big can bunch up and cause blisters. That's why it's particularly important to get the right size.

SHOULD YOUR SPORTS AND RUNNING SOCKS HAVE COMPRESSION OR NOT?

This is a matter of debate, but the choice is yours and you can choose what suits you and your style best. The question of whether compression socks can provide a performance-enhancing effect in, for example, running is a moot point. For example, there is no evidence that compression provides a better effect on heart and lung capacity. However, it is known that compression socks can alleviate the feeling of training pain in the days following the training or running session.

At the same time, there is no evidence that compression socks cause negative effects, so if you like the feeling that compression socks provide, you are free to try and train with compression! However, it is important to make sure that the size is right so that the sock presses in the right places.

CARE OF SPORTS AND RUNNING SOCKS - TIPS & TRICKS

Throw away socks that have lost their shape.
Test run your socks before a race.
Always put on dry socks before a run to avoid chafing.
Turn your socks inside out before throwing them in the wash. Most of the moisture is on the inside.
Buy several pairs of a model you like, so that you can still get a pair when some disappear.
