Ball of Foot Pain

Ball of Foot Pain

Foot problems are increasingly common, even among young people. If children or young people are affected, it may be because they are wearing the wrong kind of shoes. Sneakers and fabric shoes are stylish but not optimal for the foot because their soles are both thin and very flat. There is almost nothing to support the foot. Regardless of age, the pain can vary from an occasional ache to a persistent pain. At worst, it can mean avoiding walking or standing up. As well as the soles not being good enough, some people can also develop an allergy to the material of their socks or to their detergent. This can cause stinging in the feet.

If you have recently changed detergent and the symptoms have started after that, it may be a good idea to change back to see if that was the cause. Try using socks made of a different material, such as bamboo. Your doctor can confirm with an allergy test if you are reacting to any substance. You should also review the shoes you wear, regardless of your age. If you know that you either wear shoes that do not have a comfortable sole or if you often wear shoes that are too small or have a heel, this is a likely cause. Switch to a more foot-friendly pair of shoes where the foot is both supported and fits in the shoe. Combine this with a good sole.

Often it is the shoes and soles that cause sore pads. Investing in a pair of really good soles even before you get pain is a good way to prevent problems. At Sportsmart.se you will find several products that can help you walk more comfortably and both prevent and alleviate already occurring problems. Feel for which pads that hurt. Is it the front of the foot or the heel that hurts? If you have pain in the front cushions of the foot, we recommend an ankle support that is designed to relieve pressure on the bottom of the front of the foot. The support prevents, for example, cramps and tired feet. There are also special insoles for those who want to continue wearing trainers.
