PFSS (Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome)

PFSS (Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome)

PFSS is a common cause of knee injury problems. The syndrome mainly affects young people, especially teenage girls. However, it is common in both sexes and most common between the ages of 15 and 30. The pain caused by this syndrome is mainly centred on the kneecaps and is usually perceived as coming from inside the kneecap. However, the pain can come and go and is usually experienced after and during physical activity or if you have been sitting down with your knees bent for a long time.

The pain of PFSS is due to the joint between the kneecap and the femur being overloaded. You don't have to have had problems with your knees in the past to develop PFSS. Often this problem starts in connection with exercising more often and more intensively than before. If you have gone from being relatively untrained to suddenly training several days a week, you are probably at greater risk of developing PFSS.

If you feel that the pain in your knees affects the ability to exercise and be active, it can be a very good idea to acquire some kind of knee protection that is made precisely to prevent the stability of the knees and relieve them. You can find these with us and you can easily order these from our website and webshop. The knee pads that have a built-in compression help you maintain the heat and thus the mobility of your knee. In our range there are also knee pads that are especially suitable for those who have problems with the specific area around the kneecap.
